Getting started

From installation to first control

TED is running? Here are the essential settings, in order, on a NAS as on a Docker server or in Home Assistant OS. Allow about ten minutes for your first inverters. TED's interface is in French: menu names are given as they appear, with their meaning.

    Open TED's interface

    Go to http://NAS-IP:5001 (or the port you chose). Check that the dashboard shows up. With Home Assistant OS: the TED entry in Home Assistant's sidebar.

    Import your license

    Paramètres (Settings) tab › import the ted-license-….json file downloaded from this site. Without a valid license, TED stays on standby and controls nothing.

    Check the Home Assistant connection

    Check the address (HA URL) and the token (HA Token), then click Test connexion Home Assistant before any control. With Home Assistant OS the connection is automatic: just click Tester (Test).

    Choose the grid measurement source

    TED reads your electricity meter through its Home Assistant entity (import and export). With a Shelly, it can also read it directly by its IP address (Shelly Status), which is often faster; both work.

    Add your inverters

    Onduleurs (Inverters) tab › + Ajouter onduleur Ted, then choose the device's Home Assistant entities (battery level, power values, setpoints). For Zendure, enter the device's label (or QIS) and click Autoremplissage (Autofill): the entities are suggested automatically.

    Choose the type: piloté (controlled: TED sends it setpoints) or surveillé (monitored: read-only). Test the communication, then apply.

    Set your safeguards

    Set the maximum charge and discharge power according to your installation's real capacity, then the loop cycle: about 2 seconds is a good starting point.

Log retention, verification tolerances, fine thresholds: the default values are fine for your first tests.

Understand the loop cycle

TED works in cycles. The shorter the loop, the finer the regulation, but also the more sensitive. Adjust gradually.

You stay in control

You are responsible for your electrical installation: use the maximum power settings as safeguards and start with cautious values.
