Your data, fully transparent

What we collect

When you request a download, the form records your first name and your email address, and, if you provide them, your last name, company, project type, chosen platform and hardware description.

We also record which files were downloaded, linked to your license identifier, to know which versions are in use. Your IP address is used temporarily, in memory, to limit form abuse; the server's technical logs may also contain it.

On the roadmap page, your email address is only used to count one vote per person and to identify the author of a proposal; it is never displayed on the site.

Audience measurement. To know which pages are viewed, the site counts visits anonymously: page viewed, referring site and device type. Your IP address is never stored (only a non-reversible fingerprint, renewed every day, avoids counting the same visit twice), no cookie is set and these statistics are deleted after one year.

Why

• Generate your license and link it to your email (one license per address).
• Let you download your license and new versions again.
• Contact you about your license or TED if necessary.

Your data is never sold, transferred or used for advertising.

Where it is stored

On the server hosting TED Energy Pilot, in France, with no third-party service. This site uses no external audience tool, no font or script loaded from another site, and no advertising tracker. Data is kept as long as your license exists, or until you ask for its deletion.

Cookies and local storage

No tracking cookie. If you switch language with the FR / EN selector, a technical lang cookie remembers your choice for one year. After your request, your browser stores your download link locally so you do not have to fill in the form again; the "Use another email address" button on the Download page clears it. A session cookie is used only for the admin area.

The TED software: what it sends over the Internet

TED runs on your own machine and talks to your Home Assistant on your local network. Your installation's measurements (power values, battery levels, history, settings) never leave your home: TED sends no usage statistics.

Here is the complete list of its Internet connections:

• License validation (mandatory), once a day, to ted-energy.fr: license identifier and key, random installation identifier, machine name, installation type (Docker, Home Assistant OS…) and TED version. The server's answer is signed: TED checks that it really comes from us.
• Off-peak hours (only if you enable it, French contracts): Tempo day colours from api-couleur-tempo.fr if your contract is Tempo, and your off-peak hours from myelectricaldata.fr if you entered your supply point and token there.
• Mobile app remote access (only when you click "Détecter"): your public IP address is requested from api.ipify.org or ifconfig.me.
• Your webhooks: the addresses you configure yourself in automations.

The Home Assistant access token stays on your machine and is never transmitted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can access your data, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. To do so, contact us on the TED Discord. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (French data protection authority).
