Your off-peak hours
The favourable periods come from your contract (base, off-peak, Tempo…), entered once in Settings › Subscription and rates, or from a hand-made calendar.
How it works · 4 of 4
When electricity is cheaper, TedEnergy fills the batteries from the grid, but it meters the charge so that the home, appliances starting up and the batteries all stay under your subscribed power.
Press “Compare” to see the standard HEMS alongside. Space bar: pause.
The animation
The favourable periods come from your contract (base, off-peak, Tempo…), entered once in Settings › Subscription and rates, or from a hand-made calendar.
Charging power is capped by the subscription you entered. The home comes before the batteries: TedEnergy works out what is left.
Washer and dryer start: charging drops at once, and an inverter goes back to sleep if needed. It resumes when the surge is over.
The subscription price and each period's price feed the dashboard summary and the PDF reports: grid cost, resale of the surplus, net bill.
Simplified animation (principle model). Filling then emptying a battery loses 15 to 25 %: scheduled charging only pays off if the peak/off-peak price gap is clear. The standard HEMS is basic control used for comparison, not a particular product.
No: with a round-trip efficiency of 75 to 85 %, an off-peak kWh must cost clearly less than a peak one. TedEnergy's bill in euros takes these prices into account.
Charging power adapts: the home goes first, the batteries take what is left. If the subscription is not entered, a cautious value is used and the dashboard invites you to enter it.
