Why it is hard
A manufacturer HEMS is designed to sell and run one product range, with deliberately simple settings. Depending on brand and model, it limits the number of devices in a group, ignores other brands and only exposes a few parameters.
Those choices make sense for a first device. They become a hurdle as soon as the installation grows: a second battery, another brand, an off-peak tariff, the wish to automate a water heater.

TED keeps grid power within the band you choose, with profiles (winter, default, summer), charging and discharging all your batteries.
Fine settings, applied live
Target band, maximum power, battery thresholds per device, priorities: everything is set in the interface and applied immediately.

TED runs at home and talks to Home Assistant on your network: your measurements never leave your home.
TED does not bypass any hardware protection or installation rule: it sends setpoints your devices already accept through Home Assistant, within the limits you set. Respect the capacity of your electrical installation and your country's regulations.

Frequently asked questions
Do I lose my battery warranty?
TED installs nothing on your devices: through Home Assistant it sends them the same kinds of setpoints their integration already allows. Still, check your manufacturer's warranty terms.
Can I go back?
Yes. Stop TED or switch your inverters to monitored: your original HEMS takes control of its devices again.
Is assisted mode responsive?
Yes: TED continuously follows what the original HEMS does and immediately tops it up with your other inverters.
